Carissa Holly Mattern (Langer) is an equine and portrait creative based in Baltimore, Maryland. As a seasoned professional, her work has been featured in Chasing News New Jersey, The Equiery, The Huffington Post, and has exhibited across the nation. She has been working in the photography industry for over a decade and is always looking for a new project.

Between painting ponies and photographing shows, she is the Legislative Director for a Baltimore City politician. She is also currently working on her Doctorate in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Policing. 

In 2010, she graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with her BFA in Art History, Criticism & Theory. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with her Master of Arts in Public Management. She has taken a leave of absence from her MFA in Studio Art.
